A Rolex is a fine piece of jewelry, an ideal present for your loved one on Valentine’s Day. Just imagine the look on his face when you surprise him with a fine timepiece. He’ll know that you really thought about what to get him, picked up on the hints he gave about looking at his cell phone to know what time it is, and he’ll smile at you with an eye-sparkle and bear hug you tight. It’ll be the perfect cap to a romantic Valentine’s evening.
Or if you’re thinking about a Cartier watch for your special lady, there’s never a better time than Valentine’s Day. She’ll dress your neck with kisses and promise to wear it on special occasions. It’ll be the ideal way to get her excited about Valentine’s dinner, and it will be a stunning adornment on her thin wrist, sure to draw eyes wherever she passes.
Best of all, once you give your loved one a Rolex or Cartier watch, you will remember tonight whenever it is worn. In twenty years when you see that watch you will think about how a fine watch is a great way to preserve the moment and make new memories. To make it last forever, choose Cartier or Rolex watches.

Why I Wear Rolex Watches: Bond
It is arguably the most well-known name in the watch world. Sure, the guys at Bulova or Patek Philippe might have a strong following. But no one compares to Rolex, and that’s a fact. The word Rolex is almost synonymous with “luxury timepiece,” and has been for as long as they’ve been around… which goes back to the company’s founding in 1905.
But why does this blogger personally like Rolex Watches the most? To be 100% honest with you, it has nothing to do with the design, the style, or the message it sends wearing one.
It’s because Rolex is the watch of 007 himself, James Bond.
The Omega Watch company doesn’t want you to know this, since they’ve been sponsoring the Bond films for decades now as a means of making their brand the ones associated with timepieces that can shoot rockets, communicate over thousands of miles and cut through metal bars. The original James Bond, as told in the stories written by Ian Fleming, wore a Rolex Submariner.
In fact, if you go back and watch the films starring the original Bond, Sean Connery, in the role of super-spy, and you look carefully enough, you’ll find he wore the Submariner consistently.
So before what movie-stars wore was decided by the highest bidder, there was James Bond, wearing a Rolex watch. And as far as I’m concerned, that’s good enough reason for me.

The Rolex President Is Definitely Fit For One
Rolex watches are all about prestige and style. When it comes to a symbol of power, The Rolex President is fit for a real President. In fact, that’s where it’s name came from. It’s actually the nickname for The Rolex Day-Date, when the first model was presented to President Eisenhower during the Allied Victory in 1948 was replaced with a President bracelet. Being such a beautiful piece, it’s no wonder it was great enough for the Commander in Chief. And now because of that historical event, it has a huge reputation.
The Rolex President comes in designs for both men and women. Men have three choices in size, 31 mm, 36mm, and 41mm. With choices in white gold, yellow gold, and rose gold, you can find the perfect tone of gold for any guy. Dial colors and styles also vary so there’s a lot to choose from style wise.
For women, the design is slimmer and more feminine but with all the commanding quality of the original men’s style. For the woman who loves diamonds, there’s also a design with a diamond embezzled bracelet and mother of pearl diamond markers on the dial.
So if you or anyone else really wants that image of power and prestige, the Rolex President is the way to go. Anyone will be impressed by it’s beauty, but they’ll be even more impressed if you recount the story of Eisenhower while you show it off!

Horological Excellence Only Rolex Watches
Horology for those who don’t know is the art or science of measuring time. Rolex Watches were founded on the idea of Horological Excellence. In fact the name Rolex its self is a contraction of the phrase “Horological Excellence.” A contraction as you may or may not know is the merging of two syllables of different words, so “Horological” becomes “ROL” and “Excellence” becomes “EX.”
The name was given to these excellent watches and the reliable company who makes them by founder Hans Wilsdorf. In his youth Wilsdorf worked for a Swiss watch maker. The training was essential in his understanding of the product he would eventually take global. In 1905 upon moving to London he intended to make a business offering time pieces that were both well crafted and ultimately, very affordable. Of course his Rolex brand would go on to become particularly high end, which it’s name cleverly defined.
I wonder if when Mr. Wildorf passed on in 1960 he realized the extent of his influence and how truly timeless his watches would be. It seem hard to think about a watch industry without the ever present Rolex name. That is probably thanks in no small part to Hans’s guiding philosophy and his commitment to the craft of watch making.

Cleaning Your Watches
After spending a considerable amount of money on luxury Cartier or Rolex watches, it’s important to keep that beautiful fashion accessory sparkling as bright as the day you purchased it. It’s a good idea to take it to a professional jeweler every so often to get proper maintenance, which includes both a cleaning and rewinding. But if you need to clean it immediately, you can follow these simple steps:
If you can, remove the bracelet so you do not damage the face of the watch. If it cannot be removed, just don’t get the watch case wet.Soak the bracelet in a bowl of warm water with mild soap or rubbing alcohol for about 20 minutes to loosen the dirt. The longer it soaks, the easier it will be to clean. Then use a soft brush (a toothbrush will do just fine) to gently scrub off any dirt.Dry the watch with a soft, lint-free cloth so no fibers get stuck in the links. For leather straps, you can gently scrub the band with mild soap and water. Use only a damp cloth and never immerse it in water. Use a new dampened cloth to wipe away the soap and dry the band thoroughly.

Rolex Still The Biggest Name In Watch Bling
Hip-hop fashion changes pretty quickly. Last year’s FUBU is this year’s Gucci. Gold becomes platinum. Baggy jeans turn into skinny jeans. All white turns into “all black everything.” It’s a lot to keep up with. What doesn’t change is what all your favorite rappers want in a watch. One name is all they want: Rolex.
The Rolex President is very popular among rappers and hip-hop enthusiasts alike. It’s name got an extra boost with the ascension of Barack Obama, though there is no evidence he ever wore one. Having a president willing to reference Jay-Z in conversation helped hip-hoppers come around about the phrase “president” its self.
It’s not just Rolex of course, Cartier gets its fair share of shout outs. But comparatively, it’s a drop in the bucket. So if you’re looking to take your hip-hop style to the next level, a Rolex is a great start. Not only that, but the craftsmanship and style of Rolex is absolutely timeless (that is a pun).
Even British rappers are getting in on it. There is an awesome Wiley song from a few years ago called “Wearing My Rolex.” In it, the rapper cleverly switches the person who is wearing “his Rolex.” A woman who he’s become enamored with has him promising her the world. “Next thing [he] knows she’s wearing [his] Rolex.” Maybe you should buy two.

Learning Your Rolex Watch Lingo
If you’re in the market for a Rolex watch, or any luxury watch for that matter, there are common terms used to described watch anatomy and features. Understanding what these terms mean can help you choose the watch that is right for you. Here are some words you might see when researching watches:
Automatic or self-winding – A watch with a mechanical movement, as opposed to a quartz or electrical movement.Bezel – The ring that surrounds the watch face. It is usually made out of gold, gold plate, or stainless steel.Cases – The case of the watch refers to the 3 main parts of the watch –the bezel, the band, and the back.Chronograph – A style of watch that has stopwatch functions. There are a few different styles, but many have 2 or 3 subdials.Crown – Also called the stem or pin, it is the button on the side that allows you to set the time and date.Flyback hand – The seconds hand on a chronograph watch that can be used to measure time laps.Skeleton watch – A watch with no dial and only a chapter ring.
